A Gatsby Gala Provides Roaring 20s Fun

Seniors and their dates dance to the beat at prom on Saturday March 19.

Prom occurred on Saturday March 19 at Campus 805 in Huntsville. The dance began at 7:30 p.m. and ended at midnight. The theme was “A Gatsby Gala” and included Roaring 20s decorations with much black and gold. 

Prom committee met the morning of prom at 9 a.m. to help set up. Prom committee was lead by Marilyn Swint and included Emily Simon, Katie Simon, Jordyn Johnson, Abigail Dempsey, Cassandra Dodd, Marie Hutton, Tucker Stockman, Mary Claire Besh, Sadie Beth Lecroix, Laura Leigh Lecroix, LaQuinton Gaines, Rachel Adornetto, Rachel Jordan, Claire Martin, Jada Dillard, Manie McDonald, Sawyer Stacey, Mariah House, Tylin Suggs, Ansley Whitaker, Makayla Jones, Kennedy Shepherd, Braeden Harrison, Kelsie Allen, Harlie Heck, Emma Johnson, Josiah Smith, Reagan Jackson, Grace Pouliot and Cooper Cochran. Members were also responsible for cleaning up after the event. 

Prom King and Queen were chosen by the teachers and announced around 11:30 p.m. Teacher chaperones included Lesley Carter, Matt Stockman, Nicole Stockman, Ramona Malone, Laura Lou Smith, Shaun Butler, Paige Hicks, Jordan Matthews, Sloan Acker, Haley Reyer, Angela Wagner, Casey Walker, Daniel Terry, Wesley Russell, Willie Moore, Jacob Ricketts, Stacy Willoughby, Natalie Marion, and Ty Parker. Seniors LaQuinton Gaines and Cassandra Dodd were awarded prom king and queen and recognized for their hard work. 

There was a photobooth, a DJ, refreshments, various seating, a balloon arch, glow sticks, and sparklers. This was all made possible by the fundraising of the Senior Class. The night was captured by Publications editor photographer Lilli Hall.
